• I am a strong supporter of LHUSD - I applaud their efforts to keep education local in LHC. They understand that many have issues with Common Core. They are seeking ways to develop LHC standards, develop local curriculum, and help our kids excel. We discussed challenges with funding and keeping brain power in our district along with ways to supplement textbooks that have some flaws so kids learn to think and reason rather than be indoctrinated. We agree that parents are the indispensable part of educating our kids!

#azsenate

 • There are several projects from elementary and junior high students. Topics ranged from sleep deprivation and dealing with divorce to gun control and issuing drivers` licenses to illegal aliens - the spin is definitely toward bigger government and less freedom in most of the projects. One of the most positive aspects is that the project teaches our kids how our government works and how to make a difference.
 • The Center for AZ Policy`s Stand with Courage event was fantastic. Audience members celebrated life, marriage, and religious freedom. Dr. Carson spoke of common sense, personal responsibility, fiscal conservatism, and advised us all to THINK BIG.

#americaisbeautiful

We are learning information about early development, health, and financing in hopes of fostering the growth of a productive workforce in the future. Right now, we are discussing "pay for success" - programs are only funded if they do what they say they will!

#azsenate

 • It was great to talk about being a leader with elementary school kids from all over LHC. We talked about the importance of being honest, motivated, energetic, and of being an example to those you lead. The kids know a lot about historical US leaders and mentioned some of their favorites - Lincoln, Washington, George W. Bush, Roosevelt, Franklin, and Obama. They also mentioned Rosa Parks and Martin Luther King, Jr. The high school students are leading by example and doing a great job - a special shout out to Nithya who helped organize the event. Of course, I always love to see my kids working with others - Katie and Cameron are both in Student Government this year and made sure I could come and be a part of this great event!

#azsenate

 • AZ has approximately 50,000 people employed in this $500 M (1/2 $1 B) dollar industry in our state. The recession has affected the industry; however, it is still going strong. Many artists are entrepreneurs. Art is important for teaching and history. Development of the right brain helps creativity and innovation. Participation in the Arts helps kids perform better in school and keep many off the streets.
Senator Michele Reagan and Senator Steve Farley are panelists in the discussion today.
How do you feel about the interplay of government and the Arts? Please COMMENT!

#Azsenate

 • I believe we need to bring back personal responsibility, patriotism, motivation to do an excellent job, and citizen involvement in the political process. We need to decrease the size of government and decrease dependence on government services. We need to follow our Constitution. We need to stop being distracted by bread and circuses and bring back American Exceptionalism.

 • Clinton Gode, asks candidates Dr. Kelli Ward and Sonny Borrelli questions about maintaining funds for developmentally disabled people in our community and in our state
 • This is a PERMANENT tax!

This tax disproportionately affects the MIDDLE class and the working poor - it is a REGRESSIVE tax!

This tax locks in permanent SPENDING INCREASES regardless of whether the money is available or not - this leads to TAX INCREASES

It is backed by several unions who are hoping for a $1B windfall from the taxpayers

This tax does not guarantee improved education outcomes

This is budgeting at the ballot box - it takes the ability to plan and budget for AZ out of the hands of those who you elect and who you can hold accountable

Don`t be fooled - Vote NO on 204!
